The D-List comes to Moscow

What do you think?

I find a good way to stay warm in Russia is keeping up with the celebrity gossip pouring out of balmy Hollywood. Luckily, there's been loads this week (and it's been very cold here).

First up is Tila Tequila, who apparently burst into the reality TV spotlight while I've been safely hiding away in Moscow. The fine young lady is coming to Russia soon to spend time with the boy she says she's received approval to adopt. I know you're thinking this is interesting for a host of reasons, but the most is that gays and lesbians enjoy very few rights here, and are forbidden from adopting children. Tequila (or do I call her Tila?), whose fame/notoriety skyrocketed upon the recent death of her fiancee, Johnson & Johnson heiress Casey Johnson, may not have thought the whole thing through.

Next we have Ashton Kutcher, who is on his way to Russia as we speak. As Twitter's foremost PR man, Kutcher is part of a team of "Silicon Valley luminaries" on a five-day trip to Russia aiming to boost tech and diplomatic ties between Moscow and Washington. Also on the trip are Mozilla chairman Mitchell Baker, Twitter founder Jack Dorsey and eBay CEO John Donahoe. EBay, by the way, has just signed a deal to launch in Russia. Maybe now Russians will have an easier time buying much coveted celebrity memorabilia.
