The whole world is celebrating Ramadan right now, and it's beautiful
Thursday, July 3rd, 2014

Ramadan is a holy, spiritual time: a month of fasting and feast, prayer and purification. It's considered the most sacred time of year for the world's 1.6 billion Muslims.

Indonesia and India are home to the world's biggest Muslim populations, while Muslims make up the vast majority of people across the Middle East and North Africa, according to Pew.

It's a beautiful thing when shared traditions unite so many different people. Here's a look at Ramadan scenes all over the world this week.
