Edward Kafuko was forced to flee his town during the 2007-2008 post- election violence that rocked the country. Since then, Kafuko has been in a series of displaced persons camps. He says it is too dangerous to return to his community. He has now been resettled to a new community in Laikipia, where after three months the
government had only partially finished construction. He currently lives in a makeshift home of mud and scraps. “I never thought I would leave home, but now I canʼt go
back,” he said.
