Obama calls Michael Phelps, women's gymnastics team

President Barack Obama called Michael Phelps and the US women's gymnastics team to congratulate them on their Olympic medals.

Four women's badminton doubles pairs are facing disciplinary action from the Badminton World Federation today. The women are all accused of "not using one's best efforts to win a match" and conducting themselves "in a manner that is clearly abusive or detrimental to the sport."

The US Women's Gymnastics team has just won a momentous team gold medal in the Artistic Gymnastics competition, reported ESPN News, the first such victory for the squad since its famous 1996 win.
