Former Bosnian Serb general Ratko Mladic went on trial today in The Hague.
Mladic is accused of genocide and crimes against humanity during the Bosnian War of the 1990s, including the alleged orchestration of the Srebrenica massacre.
The two men executed "were not accorded due process, including the right to defend themselves," according to the EU's head of foreign policy, Catherine Ashton.
"I may be guilty of killing people and carrying out a terrorist act but I am not guilty of waging war against the state," said convicted terrorist Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab.
The four men charged allegedly helped organize attacks on groups they perceived as supporting other candidates than theirs in the 2007 presidential election, leading to weeks of violence and more than 1,000 deaths.
