Pied Piper suggests:

I read recently that the fabled German town of Hamelin, popular with tourists because of the legend of the Pied Piper who ended its plague of rats in 1284, may need a new rat-catcher after it emerged that rodents had gnawed through a cable powering one of its fountains. What has led to this recent rat comeback? What can be done about it? What are Hamelin residents saying about the infestation?

Eurozoning out suggests:

I keep hearing about 'austerity measures' to keep the eurozone afloat. However, I'm not entirely sure what that means. Is there a way that we could get an explainer about austerity -- essentially a big picture, pragmatic view of how the eurozone crisis came about and what its current state means for Americans?
