I have now seen twice a web rumor that Netanyahu intends to attack Iran sometime late in the American presidential campaign. (Newsmax was one rumor source.) Netanyahu obviously wants an American green light for this, and if he can pull it off when Obama has to not "look soft," he can get away with it. The Israeli public (and the Jewish diaspora)are deeply conflicted about Iran - and serious policy analysts fear that any attack would throw the Middle East into turmoil with results hard to foresee. More than an actual response to these rumors, I would like GP to take a look at the foreign policy forecast between the US and Israel during the homestretch of the US Presidential election -- and how things would/will be different under Romney or Obama.
