At last, some good news from Zimbabwe

HARARE, Zimbabwe — At last, some good news from Zimbabwe. Inflation has plummeted and prices now appear stable. And the cholera epidemic has peaked, although it has already taken more than 4,000 lives and is expected to kill hundreds more before it is fully controlled.

Doctors Without Borders: Zimbabwe restricting access

BOSTON — As Zimbabwe's cholera epidemic spins "out of control," the group Doctors Without Borders took the unprecedented step of of criticizing President Robert Mugabe's government. The group's president Christoph Fournier, who recently returned from Zimbabwe, urged the government to provide "unrestricted access" for aid organizations to carry out their work.

Mugabe has cake and eats it while much of Zimbabwe goes hungry

It was for Mugabe's 85th birthday party held over the weekend in the northwestern town of Chinhoyi, near the president's birthplace, Zvimba. More than 3,000 attended the festivities.

Robert Mugabe agrees to change election date: report

The 15-country Southern Africa Development Community on Saturday called on Mugabe to delay the elections and make sure there was enough time to enact reforms that would ensure the polls are free and fair.
