China stock index futures close higher -- Dec. 3

BEIJING, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- China's stock index futures closed higher on Tuesday, with the contract for December, the most actively traded, up 0.72 percent from the previous trading day to close at 2,451.6 points. The Jan. 2014 contract gained 0.77 percent to end at 2,456. The March 2014 contract rose 0.74 percent to 2,462 points, while the June 2014 contract went up 0.69 percent to 2,464.6 points.

The contract for settlement in March 2014 shed 0.528 yuan to 92.072 yuan, while the contract for June 2014 dropped 0.388 yuan to 92.520 yuan. The contracts are agreements to buy or sell treasury bonds at a predetermined price and set date. They allow investors to bet on and profit from the movements in the value of the bonds.
