WASHINGTON, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Barack Obama as well as all his living predecessors, including Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, have mourned the death of Nelson Mandela, and praised the late anti-apartheid icon.
"He achieved more than could be expected of any man," a saddened Obama said in a televised statement made at the White House.
"And today, he's gone home. We've lost one of the most influential, courageous and profoundly good human beings that any of us will share time with on this earth," Obama said.
