Rwanda on Monday assumed the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council for April. Eugene-Richard Gasana, the permanent representative of Rwanda to the United Nations, took over the rotating council presidency from Vitaly Churkin, the Russian UN ambassador who held the council presidency for the month of March.Gasana is expected to brief the press here Tuesday on the work program of the most powerful UN body in this month.Rwanda joined the Security Council on Jan. 1, 2013 as a non- permanent member for a two years term ending December 2014.
