The fourth-ranked Pole has had her ups and downs on the lawns, losing on the South coast in the first round a year ago but going on to make a surprise appearance in her first major final facing Serena Williams in the title match at the All England club a little more than a fortnight later.

Murray hardly had time to finish celebrating Sunday's 5-7, 7-5, 6-3 victory over Croatian fifth seed Marin Cilic in the final of the pre-Wimbledon warm-up event before thoughts turned to his prospects of ending Britain's 75-year wait for a male winner of the singles' title at the All England Club. The 26-year-old arrived at Queen's last week dogged by fears over his fitness after a lower back injury forced him to miss the French Open.

Federer beats Youzhny for 6th title in Halle

International Sports Desk, Jun 16 (EFE).- Switzerland's Roger Federer beat Russia's Mikhail Youzhny 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 6-4 Sunday to win the Gerry Weber Open in Halle, Germany, for the sixth time. Halle is now one of the trio of tournaments that the Swiss great has won at least six times, along with Wimbledon (seven) and the Masters series (six). Federer, who holds a record 17 Grand Slam singles titles, has now tied American John McEnroe with 77 career titles.

Roger Federer won his first title of the year on Sunday, the world number three beating Russia's Mikhail Youzhny 6-7 (5/7), 6-3, 6-4 in the ATP final at Halle. This was the 31-year-old Swiss great's sixth Halle title and the 77th win of his career, but first since Cincinnati on the eve of the US Open in 2012. His 77th title also saw him draw level with John McEnroe in third position in the all-time career titles list.
