AstraZeneca closes in on site for new home in Cambridge

By Ben Hirschler and Tom Bill LONDON (Reuters) - AstraZeneca is closing in on a site for its new $500 million home in Cambridge, with a biomedical park just south of the English city the most likely site, property industry sources said. Moving research and global headquarters to Cambridge, with minimal disruption, is a key test for new Chief Executive Pascal Soriot as he tries to change the drugmaker's culture and puts ground-breaking science at the center of its activities.

Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino has threatened to walk away from Southampton after just four months in the job if executive chairman Nicola Cortese leaves. Cortese is believed to be considering his position at the Saints due to frustrations over the backing he receives from the owners for his plans to consolidate the club's Premier League status. Football: Relegated Pompey hit with points penalty

Former FA Cup winners Portsmouth were hit with a 10-point penalty on Saturday after coming out of administration. Portsmouth were officially taken over by a supporters group on Friday, allowing the troubled League One club to end a 14-month spell in administration but in the process triggering the points deduction. The Football League had previously confirmed Pompey would be deducted the points once they came out of adminstration.

Portsmouth move out of administration

LONDON (Reuters) - Portsmouth have come out of administration and are now officially owned by the Pompey Supporters' Trust (PST), the League One (third tier) club's joint administrator said on Friday. "We have cleared the final hurdle: all of the paperwork has now been signed and the sale concluded," Trevor Birch, a partner at business services firm BDO, said on the Portsmouth website (www.portsmouthfc.co.uk).

Football: Hull miss chance to boost promotion push

Hull's bid to win automatic promotion to the Premier League suffered a setback on Friday as the Tigers were held to 0-0 draw by already relegated Bristol City at the KC Stadium. With leaders Cardiff sealing their promotion from the Championship on Tuesday, it is down to second placed Hull and third placed Watford to fight it out for the final guaranteed spot among the elite. A win for Hull would have moved the hosts nine points clear of Watford and left them within touching distance of a return to the Premier League after a three-year absence.

Portsmouth relegated to fourth tier

LONDON (Reuters) - Portsmouth, the 2008 FA Cup winners who were in the Premier League in 2010, were relegated to League Two, the fourth and lowest division in the English Football League, on Tuesday. Portsmouth, who have been in administration for over a year, were relegated after Oldham Athletic beat Yeovil Town 1-0 in their League One game and condemned Pompey and Hartlepool to the drop.

Wells on mark again but Bradford are held 2-2:

Bermudian striker Nahki Wells continued his return to top form by claiming his 22nd goal of the season but promotion-seeking Bradford City were held at a 2-2 at Chesterfield after twice leading in their English League Two match on Saturday.The draw helped Bradford hold on to the final play-off place one point ahead of Exeter City, who were also held 2-2 after twice leading at AFC Wimbledon.Wells, 22, the club's leading scorer, fired the Bantams ahead in the 36th minute from 15 yards -- his fourth goal in three matches after a two-month drought.Tendayi Darwikwa equalise
