RugbyU: Georgia grouped with All Blacks at 2015 World Cup

Georgia's reward for beating east European rivals Romania 22-9 on Saturday was to be drawn in Group C of the 2015 Rugby World Cup with title holders New Zealand. The Romanians will go into Group D alongside France, who lost to the All Blacks in the 2011 final. The result ensured Georgia won top spot in the FIRA-AER European Nations Cup Division 1A.

Manchester City survived the 10th-minute dismissal of captain Vincent Kompany to win 2-0 at Hull City on Saturday and reduce Chelsea's lead in the Premier League to six points. Kompany saw red for a last-man foul on Nikica Jelavic, but David Silva put City ahead with a glorious curling effort just four minutes later and Edin Dzeko made sure of victory at the death. Holders Bayern Munich kept their hopes alive of becoming the first team to retain the Champions League trophy while Atletico Madrid also progressed to the quarter-finals of this season's competition on Tuesday. A second-half Bastian Schweinsteiger goal gave Bayern a brief lead before Arsenal's Lukas Podolski equalised with a thunderbolt of a shot as the tie finished 3-1 on aggregate. Arsenal, who also went out at the same stage of the competition to the same opponents last season, failed to overturn their 2-0 deficit from the first leg three weeks ago.

Football: Arsenal's Wenger rings changes for Bayern clash

Arsene Wenger made six changes from the first leg for Arsenal's Champions League last 16 return clash at Bayern Munich on Tuesday with the Gunners facing a two-goal deficit. Spain's Mikel Arteta formed a defensive midfield partnership with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain while Thomas Vermaelen came in for the injured Kieran Gibbs at left-back.
