Preview: Thunder at Rockets

The Oklahoma City Thunder made a statement and kept themselves in the race for the top spot in the Western Conference by knocking off the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday. The Thunder will attempt to carry that momentum into the second night of a back-to-back when they visit the Houston Rockets on Friday. Oklahoma City has been keeping Russell Westbrook (knee) out of back-to-backs and does not expect to play him Friday.

Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder denied San Antonio a 20th straight NBA victory on Thursday, beating the Spurs 106-94 in a battle of Western Conference powers. The Spurs arrived in Oklahoma City with a chance to extend their club-record winning streak and strengthen their grasp on the top seed in the West. But Durant kept a run of his own alive as he scored 28 points with seven rebounds to lift the Thunder.

Clippers 112, Suns 108: Blake Griffin and Darren Collison scored 23 points apiece as visiting Los Angeles came from 14 points down in the fourth quarter against Phoenix to clinch its second straight Pacific Division title.

Preview: Bucks at Heat

The Miami Heat went into Milwaukee over the weekend and put on a defensive clinic in cruising to a victory. The Bucks will try to put together a better offensive showing when they visit Miami on Wednesday. The 88-67 victory at Milwaukee marked the second of a three-game winning streak for the Heat that has them in a virtual tie with the Indiana Pacers atop the Eastern Conference with nine games left in the regular season.

Kevin Durant continued his torrid scoring pace, pouring in 31 points on Sunday in the Oklahoma City Thunder's 116-96 NBA triumph over the Utah Jazz. Russell Westbrook added 19 points and Serge Ibaka chipped in 17 points with six rebounds for the Thunder, who have won six of their last seven games. Caron Butler contributed 15 points off the bench, going 5-for-5 from three-point range, and the Thunder clamped down on defense early to keep the Jazz in check.
