Feb 27 (Reuters) - Golden State guard Stephen Curry scored a NBA season-high 54 points but only earned praise and not a win as the New York Knicks prevailed 109-105 against the Warriors at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday. Curry's career-best mark saw him land 18 of 28 shots from the field, 11 of 13 from the three-point arc and all seven free throw attempts. "I felt good all night," Curry told reporters.

NBA: Indiana's Hibbert, Golden State's Lee get one-game bans

A late-game scuffle between NBA players that spilled over into seats behind the basket led the NBA to issue one-game bans without pay on Wednesday to Indiana's Roy Hibbert and Golden State's David Lee. The punishments for instigating the altercation came after the two exchanged shoves in a skirmish that included several other players and saw the pushing contest sprawl into the spectator area behind the basket. The melee took place Tuesday at Indianapolis with 6:10 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Pacers' 108-97 victory over Golden State.

NHL: League unveils realignment plan

The National Hockey League on Tuesday unveiled a proposed realignment plan based on geographic proximity and featuring a playoff format that would include wild card entrants. The proposal calls for four groupings based primarily on geographic locations, divided into Atlantic, Central, Midwest and Pacific Divisions. The Eastern and Western Conference would keep their names. The breakdown for the new divisions would have Carolina, Columbus, New Jersey, the New York Islanders, the New York Rangers, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Washington in the Atlantic.
