Hong Kong media mogul to sell Taiwan TV unit

Hong Kong media tycoon Jimmy Lai's Next Media said Monday it would sell its loss-making TV business in Taiwan to one of the island's cable news networks for Tw$1.4 billion ($46.8 million). The announcement came after a deal to sell the firm's print and TV operations in Taiwan fell through last month. The collapsed deal with a buyer seen as pro-Beijing had also sparked press freedom concerns.

Hong Kong boat captains charged over deadly crash

Hong Kong authorities have filed 39 counts of manslaughter against the two boat captains whose vessels collided in the city's worst maritime disaster in decades. Talks fail to break Hong Kong port strike
