Hong Kong stocks rose 0.39 percent on Friday, rebounding slightly from a sell-off in the previous session and supported by a positive lead from Wall Street.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 82.10 points to 20,969.14 on turnover of HK$70.35 billion (US$9.08 billion).
Chinese stocks closed up 0.64 percent. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 13.68 points to 2,162.04 on turnover of 68.7 billion yuan ($11.2 billion).
The index fell nearly three percent on Thursday as dealers returned from a three-day holiday to another batch of weak domestic economic data.
