NFL Team Report - San Francisco 49ers - INSIDE SLANT San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh, self-admittedly, has a new favorite player. The honor belongs to fourth-round pick Quinton Patton, a receiver from Louisiana Tech, and the rationale has nothing to do with football. Patton was so excited to begin his NFL career that after being drafted by the 49ers, he bought his own plane ticket and flew from Nashville to San Francisco to get to work.

Cleveland Browns - TeamReport

NFL Team Report - Cleveland Browns - INSIDE SLANT Davone Bess, acquired last weekend in a trade with the Miami Dolphins, could well end up being the steal of the draft for the Browns. The Browns traded their fourth-round (104) and fifth-round (164) picks to the Dolphins for Miami's fourth-round (111) and seventh-round (217) picks plus Bess, a five-year veteran with 321 career catches. Bess played mostly in the slot in Miami but did line up outside in some formations.

NFL: Super Bowl resumes after power outage interruption

The Super Bowl, America's iconic sporting spectacle, resumed Sunday after being halted for 35 minutes by a power outage at the Louisiana Superdome, the first such mishap in its history. The same stadium where survivors of Hurricane Katrina fled for refuge in 2005 only to find peril and heartache was once again plunged into darkness and momentary chaos when the lights went out. US telecaster CBS reported that referees said an electrical feed into the Superdome went out, causing the power outage that shut down the power early in the third quarter of the gridiron classic.
