Kabul, May 1 (EFE).- At least 70 students at a girl's school in Kabul fainted on Wednesday as a result of apparent poisoning, the latest of a series of similar cases in Afghanistan. The incident occurred early in the morning at Sultan Razia school, according to what Education Ministry spokesman Amanula Aiman told Efe. The girls, ranging in age from 12 to 18, were standing in line at the door of the school to enter their respective classrooms and suddenly they began fainting.

Six Islamists admit British far-right terror plot

Six Islamic extremists admitted on Tuesday planning to attack a far-right rally in England with guns, swords and a nail bomb, in a plot that only failed because they turned up late. 8 Die in attack in northwest Pakistan

Islamabad, Apr 29 (EFE).- Eight civilians, among them two Afghan diplomats, died Monday in a suicide attack on the vehicle of a top police official in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar, authorities said. Police commissioner Sahibzada Anees was not hurt but the motorcycle bomb damaged a bus that was halted at a bus stop, police officer Zishan Khan told Efe. He said that the attack wounded 37 people, four of whom are in critical condition, and that among the dead are three Afghan citizens.

'Qaeda' gunmen kill 5 Yemen soldiers, says official

Suspected Al-Qaeda militants killed five Yemeni soldiers in an attack Saturday on a checkpoint southeast of Sanaa, an official said, while two assailants were reportedly killed. The attack targeted an army checkpoint in the district of Rada, where the interior ministry said late Friday it mounted security measures following intelligence about possible attacks by Al-Qaeda militants. Five soldiers were killed and several others were wounded in the attack, the local government official told AFP.
