NBA: Bucks dismiss head coach Boylan

A run to the first round of the NBA playoffs wasn't enough to keep Milwaukee interim head coach Jim Boylan at the helm of the Bucks. The team said Wednesday that Boylan, who was promoted to interim head coach on January 8 after Scott Skiles and the Bucks parted ways, wouldn't return. "At this time we feel it's in the best interest of the organisation to seek a new coach to lead our team," Bucks general manager John Hammond said. "We appreciate Jim's efforts not only in his time as head coach, but in his entire tenure as a coach in Milwaukee."

NBA-Skiles steps down as Bucks head coach

Jan 8 (Reuters) - Scott Skiles has stepped down as coach of the Milwaukee Bucks after more than four seasons in charge, General Manager John Hammond announced on Tuesday. Skiles compiled a 162-182 regular season record since replacing Larry Krystkowiak and made the playoffs once, in 2009-10, when the Bucks lost to Atlanta in the first round. Assistant Jim Boylan will assume head coaching duties for the remainder of the season.
