NBA: T-Wolves dump Khan as top hoops exec

David Khan was fired as the president of basketball operations for the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday, the team announced two weeks after the end of a 31-51 season. The Timberwolves declined to pick up the one-year option in Khan's contract for the 2013-2014 campaign. He had been originally hired by the club in May of 2009. "These are always difficult decisions, but at this time, we believe it is in the best interest of our organization to make a change," Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor said.

NBA-Clippers' forward Barnes suspended for one game

The incident occurred during the second quarter of the Clippers' 96-90 victory over the Timberwolves on Wednesday in Minneapolis. NBA-Timberwolves' Love to miss 8-10 weeks after surgery

Jan 9 (Reuters) - The Minnesota Timberwolves' playoff hopes were dealt a blow as leading scorer Kevin Love will miss up to 10 weeks because of surgery to repair his fractured right hand, the National Basketball Association team said on Wednesday. Love reinjured his hand during the team's Jan. 3 game at Denver. The 24-year-old forward had already missed the first three weeks of the 2012-13 season with a broken right hand.
