NHL: Jagr to add cutting edge to Bruins after swap deal

Five-time National Hockey League scoring champion Jaromir Jagr, who helped the Czech Republic win 1998 Olympic gold, was traded by the Dallas Stars to the Boston Bruins on Tuesday. The 41-year-old right wing, the top scorer among active NHL players, signed with Dallas as a free agent in July after playing for Philadelphia last season and was moved on the eve of the NHL trade deadline for this season.

March 9 (The Sports Xchange) - Knicks 113, Jazz 84 After learning Amar'e Stoudemire was lost for the remainder of the regular season because of a knee injury, the New York Knicks went out Saturday night and tried to show they could make up for his absence. The Knicks routed the Utah Jazz 113-84, controlling the game most of the way despite missing Stoudemire as well as forward Carmelo Anthony, who was out for the third straight game with his own knee issue.

NBA: Anthony close to full fitness for Knicks

The New York Knicks said they would re-evaluate Carmelo Anthony's right knee before deciding whether he will play Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons. Knicks coach Mike Woodson told New York-based radio station 98.7 Tuesday that the club's leading scorer is listed as day-to-day. Woodson also said Anthony asked to be taken out of the National Basketball Association game before he tripped over his own feet at mid-court and then walked off to the dressing room.

NBA-Knicks' Wallace likely out for season with broken foot

Feb 27 (Reuters) - New York Knicks back-up forward/center Rasheed Wallace will have surgery this week to repair a broken left foot and will probably miss the rest of the regular season, the team said on Wednesday. The 38-year-old Wallace, who came out of a two-year retirement to join the Knicks last October, had been sidelined since mid-December with a foot injury.
