Joss Stone 'unaware of murder plot until arrests'

British pop star Joss Stone on Tuesday told the trial of two men charged with planning to rob and kill her that she was unaware of the plot until police visited her after they had been arrested. The 25-year-old singer said: "Apart from someone (police) coming around to say someone is trying to kill me, it was a really nice day." Stone was giving evidence at the trial of Kevin Liverpool, 35, and Junior Bradshaw, 32, who deny charges of plotting to rob and kill her before dumping her body in a river in June 2011.

Two men went on trial in Britain on Monday accused of plotting to rob and murder soul diva Joss Stone. Kevin Liverpool and Junior Bradshaw drove to the 25-year-old singer's home in Devon, southwest England in June 2011, with a sword, a knife, a hammer and notes of their intentions in their car, Exeter Crown Court heard. The Grammy-winning singer was at home at the time. Bradshaw, 32, and 35-year-old Liverpool deny charges of conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm and conspiracy to rob.

The former front man for the alternative rock band The Smiths has pulled out of the last 22 concerts on his itinerary, starting with one scheduled for Monday in Lawrence, Kansas, his publicist, Lauren Papapietro, said late on Friday.

Former Smiths frontman Morrissey has cancelled the rest of his US tour due to a string of medical problems, his publicist said on Saturday. The 53-year-old British singer was forced to call off 22 concerts across the United States after suffering double pneumonia, a bleeding ulcer and Barrett's oesophagus in recent months. "Despite his best efforts to try to continue touring, Morrissey has to take a hiatus and will not be able to continue on the rest of the tour," his publicist Lauren Papapietro said.
