UPDATE 1-BMW recalls 750,000 cars due to electrical problem

Feb 19 (Reuters) - BMW is recalling about 750,000 of its vehicles in the United States, Japan, Canada and South Africa due the chance of an electrical failure that may cause the cars to stall unexpectedly, U.S. regulators and the company said. Vehicles sold in Germany, BMW's home market, and the rest of Europe are not involved in the recall.

Feb 19 (Reuters) - BMW is recalling 569,830 of its vehicles in the United States and Canada due the chance of an electrical failure that may cause the cars to stall unexpectedly, U.S. regulators and the company said. The recall affects Bayerische Motoren Werke AG's popular 3-Series sedans, convertibles, coupes and sports wagons as well as its 1-Series coupes and convertibles and Z4 two-seat roadsters.

BMW recalls 750,000 cars worldwide

German luxury car maker BMW is recalling about 750,000 cars worldwide over potential electrical problems, a spokesman said on Tuesday. The recall affects mainly about 500,000 cars in the United States, specifically various versions of its 1-Series and 3-Series cars built between March 2007 and July 2011 and its Z4 model built between March 2009 and June 2011. Cars sold in Canada, Japan and South Africa were also affected, the spokesman said.
