RugbyL: Hohaia keen to answer Saints' Grand Final prayers

It is eight years since St Helens last tasted Super League Grand Final success and Lance Hohaia is focused on ending the famous club's title drought. Saints were the only side to keep their 100 percent start to the season intact last weekend, beating Wakefield Trinity 24-16 to sit top of the table after six rounds. It represents a positive start in the Lancashire club's pursuit of a first Grand Final appearance since 2011, the last of five straight defeats for the Saints in English rugby league's showpiece match.

RugbyL: Chase earns Noble salute as Salford tame Tigers

Brian Noble said Rangi Chase was the star of the show on his comeback for Salford as the New Zealander earned the Red Devils their first win in four Super League games against his former club Castleford. Chase was back in action after suffering a calf injury on his Salford debut against Wakefield in the first match of the campaign. But the 27-year-old impressed Red Devils coach Noble after setting up two tries for Andrew Dixon and scoring a late drop-goal to seal a late 23-16 victory over the previously undefeated Tigers.

Morris Kadzola levelled on the hour mark in second city Bulawayo and Menard Mupera converted a stoppage-time penalty after the gold miners wasted many scoring chances. Bayelsa host the return match in south-eastern Nigeria next weekend with a place in the play-offs of the second-tier African club competition at stake.
