UPDATE 1-Cricket-Ingram century propels South Africa to easy win

BLOEMFONTEIN, South Africa, March 10 (Reuters) - Colin Ingram hit an unbeaten century to propel South Africa to an easy 125-run win in the first one day international on Sunday as Pakistan fell way short in the chase. Ingram scored 105 off 104 balls as a full strength South African side posted 315 for four to set Pakistan a tough target despite improving batting conditions.

Amla struck 92 off 128 balls before he was out attempting to cut a wide delivery from Rahat Ali and got a faint edge through to wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed. AB de Villers (40) and Robin Peterson (two), fresh from an 84 in the last test in Cape Town, will resume after the interval.

(Updates at tea) By Nick Said CAPE TOWN, Feb 17 (Reuters) - Brilliant bowling on the fourth day set South Africa on course for victory after they went to tea at 66 for two chasing a target of 182 against Pakistan in the second test at Newlands on Sunday. Hashim Amla (32 not out) and Graeme Smith (29) were positive in their approach on a wicket that is still good for batting, though the latter was out just before the break to give Pakistan hope.

Off-spinner Saeed Ajmal took all five wickets as Pakistan finished on top on a controversial second day of the second Test against South Africa at Newlands on Friday. South Africa were struggling at 139 for five at the close, still 199 runs behind Pakistan's first innings of 338 after Ajmal had finished with five for 41. "Pakistan are ahead of the game," admitted South African assistant coach Russell Domingo. South Africa's cricketers are increasingly comfortable as they look down on the rest of the cricketing world from their number one spot in the Test rankings. A 211-run win in the first Test against Pakistan at the Wanderers Stadium was their fourth win in a row -- all achieved within four days -- and it extended their unbeaten run to 13 matches, going back more than a year. Not only are South Africa on top of the Test team rankings, they dominate the individual categories too.
