Football: Milito diagnosed with left thigh strain

Argentinian Diego Milito has rejoined Inter Milan's casualty list after a scan on Thursday revealed a muscle strain in his left thigh. Milito, who only returned to action for the Serie A giants last month following a seven-month lay-off, limped out of a training session on Wednesday evening. The 34-year-old striker underwent scans on Thursday morning which revealed he had suffered a "thigh strain (rectus femoris) in his left leg", according to Inter. The rectus femoris is one of four quadricep (thigh) muscles, all of which are attached to the knee cap.

"Milito has recovered; he has a small problem with his knee that causes him a bit pain but isn't a serious medical problem," said the Inter coach at Friday's pre-match news conference.
