Kerry to meet Karzai, Pakistan military head

US Secretary of State John Kerry will hold a meeting Wednesday with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and the head of Pakistan's armed forces, Ashfaq Kayani, a US diplomatic source said. Kerry, in Brussels for a gathering of NATO foreign ministers on Tuesday, "has offered to host a meeting with Afghan and Pakistani officials", the source said. Along with Karzai and Kayani will be Afghan Defence Minister Bishmullah Mohammadi and Pakistan Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani, the source added.

Army Chief confers awards on military personnel

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani Tuesday conferred military awards on the Army personnel in an investiture ceremony held at General Headquarters.Total 77 awards were conferred on military personnel in three different categories. A large number of military officials and relatives of awardees attended the ceremony.Twenty-five officers were awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), 47 officers and soldiers were awarded Tamgha-e-Bisalat, five soldiers were awarded United Nations (UN) Medal. Medals of Shuhada were received by their family members.

Gen. Ozel has talks in Pakistan, set to visit India
