At least 12 injured in crash at Orlando daycare center

ORLANDO, Florida (Reuters) - At least 12 people, mostly children, were hospitalized on Wednesday after a vehicle crashed into an Orlando, Florida, daycare center, an official with the Florida Highway Patrol said. Two people were in critical condition, highway patrol spokeswoman Wanda Diaz said. Diaz said a silver gray Dodge Durango crashed into the rear of another vehicle, sending the second car through the front of the KinderCare facility.

Union workers refute low evaluation of Hyundai cars

ULSAN, April 10 (Yonhap) -- The union of Hyundai Motor Co. on Thursday refuted a poor evaluation of Hyundai cars by a U.S. market researcher, saying what it called the biased study should not be used by management to exert pressure on the workers. SEOUL, April 10 (Yonhap) -- Sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) accounted for 37.5 percent of all South Korean car exports in the first quarter of this year, making them the second-largest vehicle types shipped out by the country, a local automotive industry association said Thursday. According to the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA), carmakers such as Hyundai Motor Co., Kia Motors Corp. and GM Korea Co. exported 282,848s SUVs and MPVs in the January-March period.

Toyota to recall 6.4 million vehicles for steering, other faults

US urges oil-by-rail sector to agree a safer tank car

Hyundai Motor hosts global automotive engineering convention in Detroit

SEOUL, April 9 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's largest carmaker, said Wednesday it is hosting the world's leading automotive engineering convention taking place in Detroit this week. The company said this is the first time for a South Korean original equipment manufacturer (OEMs) to assume such a prominent part in the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) World Congress. Hyundai Motor has taken part in the SAE gatherings since 2000.
