Cricket: England put Sri Lanka in to bat in World T20

England captain Stuart Broad won the toss and decided to bowl in their group one super-10 World Twenty20 game against Sri Lanka in Chittagong on Thursday. Both teams were unchanged from their last games. Sri Lanka crushed the Netherlands by nine wickets on Monday while England lost to New Zealand under the Duckworth-Lewis method on Saturday -- both matches played in Chittagong. South Africa edged out the Netherlands by six runs in the same group earlier on Thursday.

Sri Lankan captain Dinesh Chandimal won the toss and decided to bowl in their Group one Super-10 stage match against the Netherlands in Chittagong on Monday. Sri Lanka, who beat South Africa in their first match by five runs on Saturday, remained unchanged. Cricket: Perera lift Sri Lanka to 165-7 in World Twenty20

Kusal Perera hit a robust half-century to lift Sri Lanka to 165-7 in their group one Super-10 stage match against South Africa in Chittagong on Saturday. Perera scored 61 off 40 balls and Angelo Mathews made 43 off 32 deliveries after Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat on a flat Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium. Perera hit six boundaries and three towering sixes before South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir pulled back the scoring rate by taking 3-26 in his four overs.

Opener Kusal Perera top-scored with 64 off 44 balls to steer Sri Lanka to 168-7 in the first Twenty20 international against Bangladesh in Chittagong on Wednesday. The left-hander hit seven boundaries and a six, but found little support from the rest of the top order after the tourists were sent in to bat at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium. Sri Lanka were reduced to 120-6 in the 15th over, before Nuwan Kulasekara and Thisara Perera boosted the total with a seventh-wicket partnership of 44 from 31 balls.

Dilruwan Perera missed a century on his debut while skipper Angelo Mathews fell for 91 as Sri Lanka frustrated Pakistan in the third and final Test in Sharjah on Friday. Perera (95) and Mathews made life difficult for Pakistan through their 112-run seventh wicket stand before Sri Lanka declared their first innings at 428-9, leaving Pakistan to score 19-0 in a tricky six overs before the close of the second day's play.
