Slovenian Tina Maze brought her remarkable season to a suitable end here on Sunday winning the final race of the World Cup campaign the giant slalom. The 29-year-old overall World Cup champion - who was recording a record 24th podium finish of the season - timed 2min 16.67sec over the two legs to finish ahead of Tessa Worley of France (2:17.02) and Swiss skier Lara Gut (2:18.05).

Overall World Cup winner Tina Maze claimed her tenth victory of the season in Sunday's slalom with Swiss Wendy Holden second and Mikaela Shiffrin of the United States third. Slovenia's Maze was the fastest over the two runs with a winning time of 1min 52.85sec with Holden at 0.25sec back and 17-year-old Shiffrin, the world slalom champion, at 0.75sec off the pace. Olympic slalom champion Maria Hoefl-Riesch of Germany failed to finish her fourth consecutive slalom after missing a gate on her first run.
