All of the areas in northern Borno state near the Cameroon border were considered Boko Haram strongholds.

14 insurgents, 3 soldiers killed in Nigeria offensive

The Nigerian army's offensive against Boko Haram Islamists in the north of the country has left 14 insurgents and three soldiers dead, the defence ministry said Sunday in its latest toll from the operation. "After a mop up of scenes of battle (since Saturday), 14 terrorists were confirmed dead...
