Zucker's OT goal gets Wild back in series

Zucker's OT goal gets Wild back in series ST. PAUL, Minn. -- When Minnesota Wild fans envisioned new faces leading them in to the playoffs, they likely were thinking of high-priced free agents Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. And while they both played a role in the franchise's first playoff win in a half-decade, it was the truly new faces -- rookies Jason Zucker and Charlie Coyle -- who made the biggest differences.

Preview: Islanders at Penguins

Although missing their captain, the top-seeded Pittsburgh Penguins were as good as advertised in winning the opener of their Eastern Conference first-round series. The Penguins look to ride that momentum and secure a 2-0 advantage on Friday, when they host the eighth-seeded New York Islanders. Pascal Dupuis scored twice and Marc-Andre Fleury registered his sixth career postseason shutout to tie Tom Barrasso for the franchise record in Wednesday's 5-0 triumph in Game 1.

NHL: Crosby return not enough for Penguins

Two goals from captain Sidney Crosby in his return from injury weren't enough to lift the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday in the second game of their NHL playoff series against the New York Islanders. Kyle Okposo scored the winner in the third period as the Islanders rallied for a 4-3 victory that levelled the best-of-seven Eastern Conference first-round series at one game apiece.

NHL: Crosby to return for Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins were set to welcome captain Sidney Crosby back from injury Friday for game two of their NHL first-round playoff series against the New York Islanders. Canadian superstar Crosby had been sidelined since his jaw was broken when he took a puck to the face in a regular-season game against the Islanders on March 30. He required surgery to repair a broken jaw and dental damage. At the time of his injury, Crosby was leading the league in scoring with 15 goals and 41 assists in 36 games.

NHL: Penguins clinch top seed with win over Bruins

The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Boston Bruins 3-2 Saturday at the Boston Garden arena to clinch the top playoff seed in the Eastern Conference standings. Jussi Jokinen scored a goal and had two assists for the Penguins who have won six straight games and 21 of their last 23. The suspect was arrested by police on Friday.
