NFL: San Francisco, Houston to host Super Bowls

San Francisco and Houston got the nod as Super Bowl hosts on Tuesday in a decision announced at the NFL Spring Meeting. San Francisco will host Super Bowl 50 in February of 2016 and Houston will host Super Bowl 51 in February of 2017, the league announced. The Super Bowl will return to the Bay Area thanks to the 49ers' future Santa Clara home, recently named Levi's Stadium. The new $1.2 billion stadium is set to open in 2014.

The San Francisco Bay Area will host the 50th Super Bowl in early 2016 at Levi's Stadium, the brand new home of the 49ers, which is still under construction. Then Houston will stage the 51st edition of the sport's championship game in early 2017 at Reliant Stadium, the home of the Texans.
