German chemicals giant BASF said Thursday it is teaming up with Malaysian partner Petronas Chemicals Group to invest $500 million (385 million euros) in an aroma ingredients production facility.
The plant, to be built in Gebeng, will be operational in 2016 and employ 110 people, BASF said in a statement.
BASF is one of the leading producers of aroma ingredients worldwide and its products range from geraniol, citronellol, linalool and L-menthol.
