Justices agree to hear Lexmark false advertising case

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to hear printer manufacturer Lexmark International Inc'ss appeal of a long-running dispute with Static Control Components Inc over replacement toner cartridges. Lexmark asked the justices to review an appeals court ruling that said Static had standing to make false advertising claims against it. Cuba broadens Internet access, but private use remains restricted

Havana, May 28 (EFE).- The Cuban government will expand the number of public Internet connection points with new Web-surfing rooms as part of its policy of facilitating "social" online access, but Internet use in private homes will continue to be restricted. The Communications Ministry decided to establish, starting June 4, 118 new connection spots nationwide with facilities to surf the Internet and the national network and to use e-mail via a portal called Nauta, official daily Juventud Rebelde said Tuesday.

Twitter launches music-finding service

Twitter on Thursday waded into the competitive digital music sector with a service that recommends tunes based on what folks are tweeting about and lets users sample songs they might like. The San Francisco-based firm said Twitter #music would "change the way people find music" by using activity on the popular micro-blogging site to "detect and surface the most popular tracks and emerging artists." "It also brings artists' music-related Twitter activity front and center. And, of course, you can tweet songs right from the app," Stephen Philips wrote in a company blog post.

Twitter launches music app to deepen multimedia offering

The iPhone app, called #music, will recommend and stream songs based on who users follow on Twitter and artists' recommendations. The songs will be streamed via Rdio and Spotify, the subscription-based music services, and iTunes, Apple Inc's music store.

Capitol wins digital records lawsuit vs ReDigi start-up
