Athletics: Bolt wins 100m in photo finish

Six-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt edged teammate Kemar Bailey-Cole in a photo finish to win the 100 metres at the Cayman Invitational track meet on Wednesday. Jamaica's Bolt kicked his 100-metre season off Wednesday with a less than impressive time of 10.09 seconds at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex. Bailey-Cole, who finished with the same time, is one of Bolt's training partners. Antiguan Daniel Bailey finished third with a time of 10.23. Bolt has been battling a hamstring problem but said that wasn't to blame for the slow time.

Athletics: Japan teenager equals world junior record - IAAF

A Japanese teenager has equalled the world junior 100m record, running 10.01sec at a meeting in Hiroshima, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) said on Monday. Yoshihide Kiryu's time in the heats of the Mikio Oda Memorial meeting is the same as that clocked by Trinidad and Tobago's Darrel Brown in 2003 when he was 18, and makes him the fastest ever 17-year-old over the straight sprint.

Bolt to head cast at London's "anniversary games"

Sprint champion Usain Bolt's younger brother Sadiki struck 40 as Jamaican club side Melbourne Cricket Club opened a whirlwind five-match tour of Bermuda with a 49-run victory over local side Jamaican Association in a Twenty20 match at Somerset on Thursday night.Bolt helped Melbourne post 155-7 with five boundaries in his innings and later took a catch as the tourists restricted Jamaican Association, the Commercial Cricket League's T20 defending champions, to 106-5.

Athletics: Bolt coasts to 150m victory in Rio

Jamaica's champion sprinter Usain Bolt cruised to victory in a 150-metres race held on Rio's Copacabana beach on Sunday, timing 14.42 seconds. The 26-year-old Bolt -- who won the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay in both the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Games, fell short of improving on his own 150m world record -- 14.35 seconds in Manchester, England, in 2009. Antiguan sprinter Daniel Bailey came in second on Sunday at 14.88 seconds, followed by Brazilian Bruno Lins at 14.91 and Ecuadoran Alex Quinonez at 15.90.

Athletics: Bolt, Blake to run relay in Ostrava

Jamaican star sprinters Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake will run the 4x100m relay at the Golden Spike event in Ostrava in the Czech Republic on June 27, the organisers said on Thursday. "We have managed to negotiate the Racers Track Club's star team's start in a 4x100m relay, with Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake," the organisers said on the event's website. Bolt, Blake, Michael Frater and Nesta Carter set a 4x100m world record time of 36.84s at the London Olympics last year.

Sprint legend Usain Bolt is to run at the Cayman Invitational meeting on the Cayman Islands, the Jamaican athlete and the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) said on Thursday. The Olympic champion in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay from Beijing and London did not divulge at which event he would compete but he said that he was looking forward to the meeting on May 8. "I have not competed there before but my coach was there last year and spoke well about the event," Bolt said in a statement from the organisers posted on iaaf.org.

Bolt was invited to play in the Celebrity Game, featuring a mixture of well-known people from all walks of life, including some former NBA players at the showcase weekend from Feb. 15-17.
