Spanish and Salvadoran soldiers die in traffic accident in Lebanon

Madrid, Feb 23 (EFE).- A Spanish soldier and a Salvadoran soldier were killed, and three other soldiers from El Salvador were seriously injured in a traffic accident Sunday in southern Lebanon, Spanish Defense Ministry officials said. The soldiers were traveling in a Lince vehicle that flipped over early Sunday on the SDI highway near the Israeli border, the officials told Efe. The soldiers belonged to a 42-man Salvadoran unit that operates with Spanish vehicles and were assigned to the Spanish unit deployed with the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon, or UNIFIL.
