RugbyU: Kearney slams talk of Six Nations clean sweep

Rob Kearney reckons whoever wins the Six Nations match between Ireland and England in Dublin on Sunday will still struggle to complete a Grand Slam. Both teams head to Lansdowne Road on the back of first round victories, Ireland seeing off defending Grand Slam champions Wales 30-22 and England backing up their dramatic December triumph over world champions New Zealand with a 38-18 Calcutta Cup success against Scotland at Twickenham.

RugbyU: Dublin day of destiny awaits England

England will try to consign a decade of Six Nations misery in Dublin to the history books when they face Ireland at Lansdowne Road on Sunday. Not since a team led by Martin Johnson and coached by Clive Woodward thrashed Ireland 42-6 in 2003, also the year of their last Grand Slam and lone World Cup triumph, have England enjoyed Championship success in the Irish capital. Much has changed since then, with Johnson resigning as England manager after a desperately poor 2011 World Cup campaign in New Zealand to be replaced last year by the lower-profile Stuart Lancaster.

RugbyU: Heaslip has no truck with England jibes

Ireland captain Jamie Heaslip insists it is the memory of last year's heavy Six Nations defeat rather than an inherent hatred of England that will drive his side on at Lansdowne Road on Sunday. Indeed, given the chance to indulge in some "England-bashing" on Friday, Heaslip instead described opposing skipper and rival back-row forward Chris Robshaw as a "lovely guy". England sportsmen are often branded "arrogant" on account of the country's imperial history and founding role in so many team games such as rugby, football and cricket.

RugbyU: England's Twelvetrees keeps Tuilagi waiting

Billy Twelvetrees has retained his place in the England side that will face Ireland in the Six Nations in Dublin on Sunday after seeing off a challenge from Manu Tuilagi. The only change to the England team that started the tournament-opening 38-18 win over Scotland last week was the return of James Haskell at blindside flanker in a back-row revamped by coach Stuart Lancaster after No 8 Ben Morgan suffered an ankle injury at Twickenham.
