RugbyU: England keep midfield options open

England coach Stuart Lancaster kept Ireland guessing by including centres Billy Twelvetrees, Brad Barritt and Manu Tuilagi in his 25-man squad for Sunday's Six Nations clash in Dublin. Tuilagi is fit after missing England's opening 38-18 Calcutta Cup victory over Scotland at Twickenham on Saturday with an ankle injury. In his place Twelvetrees made an assured, try-scoring debut. Meanwhile, Barritt performed his customary role as the anchor of England's midfield defence with typical commitment.

RugbyU: Tuilagi return gives Lancaster a dilemma

RugbyU: Twelvetrees leaves Lancaster with selection poser

England coach Stuart Lancaster said he faced a selection debate after Billy Twelvetrees marked his Test debut with one of the team's four tries in their 38-18 Calcutta Cup win over Scotland at Twickenham. Saturday's success saw England launch their Six Nations campaign in convincing fashion with Twelvetrees, in for the injured Manu Tuilagi, delivering an accomplished all-round performance that saw him run a good line for a try on the crash ball early in the second half.

RugbyU: England expects as Scots bid for rare Twickenham win

England's emerging young side will have to cope with the pressure of being overwhelming favourites when they play Scotland in their Six Nations opener at Twickenham on Saturday. Allowances were made when, under the new regime of coach Stuart Lancaster and captain Chris Robshaw, England travelled to Murrayfield this time last season and came away with a scrappy 13-6 win. But England's stunning display last time out in their record-breaking 38-21 victory over world champions New Zealand at Twickenham in December has raised the stakes.

Rugby-Twelvetrees out to make a name for himself

By Mitch Phillips LONDON, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Billy Twelvetrees has spent a lifetime talking about his unlikely surname but now he is about to win his first England cap he will hope the novelty fades and he will become notable for his performances in test rugby. Even on the day he was named in an England team for the first time, reporters at England's training base on Thursday could not help asking if it was true that the 24-year-old Gloucester centre's father really was a tree surgeon.
