Mexico's Pemex seeking partners in all areas to boost competitiveness

Mexico City, Apr 22 (EFE).- Mexican state-owned oil giant Petroleos Mexicanos said Tuesday it is looking to forge partnerships and associations with domestic and foreign oil companies in a bid to bolster its competitiveness. "What we're looking to do is to promote synergies between Petroleos Mexicanos and its suppliers, contractors, partners and technologists - as well as with higher education institutions - throughout the oil industry value chain," Pemex CEO Emilio Lozoya said.

Mexico's Pemex earmarks $1.4 bn for moving gas from Gulf to Pacific coast

Mexico City, Apr 10 (EFE).- Mexican state-owned energy giant Petroleos Mexicanos said Thursday it will invest $1.4 million in additional infrastructure in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec as part of a plan to increase the amount of gasoline and natural gas it transports from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific. "The strategy will enable fuel exports to the Far East, capitalizing on the existing price gap between North America and markets in Asia," Pemex said in a statement.

Pemex sets production target of 4 mn bpd for 2025

Mexico City, Mar 25 (EFE).- State-owned oil giant Petroleos Mexicanos, or Pemex, expects production to reach 4 million barrels per day (bpd) in 2025, thanks to the record investments being made starting this year, CEO Emilio Lozoya said. Pemex ended 2013 with average output of 2.52 million bpd, Lozoya said, adding that the highest production level in recent years was achieved in 2004 at 3.4 million bpd.

Mexico's Pemex submits list of desired oil fields

Mexico City, Mar 22 (EFE).- Mexican state-owned oil giant Petroleos Mexicanos said it informed the Energy Secretariat of the oil fields it would like to keep in the wake of an historic energy overhaul, including areas it has been exploring and others already under production. The company said in a statement that it submitted the list by Friday's deadline in compliance with the terms of last year's overhaul, which ended its monopoly on crude development.

Ferrol, Spain, Mar 5 (EFE).- Navantia shipyard CEO Jose Manuel Revuelta said work was underway on a floating hotel, or flotel, for state-owned oil giant Petroleos Mexicanos, or Pemex, and the shipbuilding company was incorporating a management system designed to improve efficiency. Revuelta met on Tuesday with the team responsible for building the flotel, which will be used to house workers from Pemex's offshore rigs. Pemex awarded contracts to construct two flotels to Navantia and another Spanish shipyard, Hijos de J. Barreras, in January.
