Cricket: Di Venuto appointed new Australia batting coach

Former one-day international opener Michael Di Venuto was Friday appointed Australia's new batting coach ahead of their tour to India, replacing Stuart Law. The 39-year-old will quit as assistant coach for the Tasmanian Tigers and Hobart Hurricanes to take up his new role, Cricket Australia said. Australian coach Mickey Arthur said Di Venuto brought a wealth of knowledge with him, along with sound coaching credentials.
