Tokyo stocks open higher on weaker yen
TOKYO, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Thursday as the market sentiment was lifted by the yen's depreciation and overnight gains on Wall Street.
At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 193.94 points, or 1.26 percent, from Wednesday to 15,643.57, a six-month intraday high.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 12.21 points, or 0.98 percent, at 1, 259.29.
