Rio de Janeiro, May 29 (EFE).- U.S. Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday in Brazil expressed his country's wish to broaden ties with Latin America. "No partner is more significant in this endeavor than Brazil," he said in a speech at the port of Rio de Janeiro at the beginning of a three-day visit to the South American giant. "There's a new sense of dynamism across the Americas," Biden said. "And President Obama and I believe that the times present an incredible opportunity for a new era of relations between the United States and the Americas."

Biden says, quote, "Think — behind of all that, I bet you 85 per cent of those changes, whether it's in Hollywood or social media, are a consequence of Jewish leaders in the industry."

Biden demands "courage" from U.S. Congress on gun control

New York, Mar 21 (EFE).- U.S. Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday demanded "courage" from Congress in approving gun control measures that would include a ban on assault rifles. He spoke at New York City Hall at a joint press conference with Mayor Michael Bloomberg and relatives of the victims of the Dec. 14 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

White House will not rest on gun laws: Biden

The White House will keep pushing for tough new gun ownership laws despite lack of support in Congress, Vice President Joe Biden said Thursday. US vice president arrives for pope's inauguration mass

US Vice President Joe Biden arrived in Rome late Sunday to attend Pope Francis's inauguration mass, the Italian news agency ANSA reported. Biden, a practising Catholic, touched down at Rome's Ciampino military airport, ANSA said. Jorge Mario Bergoglio, former archbishop of Buenos Aires, was elected last Wednesday, becoming the first Latin American leader of the world's 1.2 billion Catholics.
