Baghdad, Sep 24 (EFE).- At least 12 people, mostly police, died and another 17 agents were wounded in several attacks Tuesday in the western Iraqi province of Anbar, a security official told Efe.
A car bomb exploded at a checkpoint near the mayor's residence in the town of Ana, followed by an armed attack on his home.
The explosion and attacks killed four policemen and the mayor's brother, while wounding four cops, the source said.
Four of the armed men who took part in the clashes also died and their bodies were taken to a forensic center for identification.
