RugbyL: Widnes down Bulls for second successive win

Patrick Ah Van scored his second try of the season as Widnes hung on to defeat Bradford 22-18 and remain flying high in the Super League with a second successive win. The 26-year-old, who played for New Zealand Warriors in the NRL before moving to Europe, scored the last of Widnes' four tries against the Bulls. And it proved vital as a converted effort from fellow former NRL product Brett Kearney 13 minutes from time set up a nervy finish before the Vikings held on for a 22-18 win.

RugbyL: Anderson abuzz with Ta'ai's Giant steps

Huddersfield coach Paul Anderson said he was relishing seeing a fully-fit Ukuma Ta'ai in action as the Giants looked to extend their unbeaten start to the Super League season. The 26-year-old signed a deal with the club until 2015 following the conclusion of the 2012 NRL season in September, having earlier been told by the New Zealand Warriors he would be released. Ten days after the Warriors' final game of the NRL season, a 42-22 loss to the Canberra Raiders, Ta'ai put pen to paper with Huddersfield with his first appearance for the Giants coming at the weekend.
