Struggling Spanish top flight side Mallorca said Monday they have sacked coach Joaquin Caparros after a poor run of form which has put the islanders in the drop zone.
Chairman Lorenzo Serra Ferrer said action had to be taken or the club - four points off safety after Sunday's 3-0 loss to Real Sociedad - would risk losing their first division place.
Caparros took the reins in October 2011 from current Swansea boss Michael Laudrup.
