NEW YORK, N.Y. - There was a wall that oozed chocolate, a streaker on the runway, a gallery turned into a freaky fashion cathedral, an entire armoury outfitted with fake puffy clouds, and so much snow — REAL snow — that even dedicated fashionistas traded in stilettos for boots. Billionaire New York designer Michael Kors mixed California ease with urbane romance, unveiling Wednesday a soft, laid-back collection for fall/winter 2014 in front of Hollywood stars. Actresses Blake Lively and Freida Pinto sat front row next to silver screen legend Michael Douglas as models powered down the runway in floaty blouses and full skirts, diaphanous chiffon and fringed sweaters. Kors, who entered the industry stratosphere after listing his company on Wall Street in 2011, was one of the biggest draws of New York Fashion Week, which comes to a close on Thursday.

The company's shares, which have more than tripled since it went public in 2011, rose more than 6 percent to a life high.

Michael Kors sues Costco for false advertising

By Bernard Vaughan NEW YORK (Reuters) - Upscale fashion accessories maker Michael Kors Holdings Ltd <KORS.N> sued Costco Wholesale Corp <COST.O> on Friday, accusing the largest U.S. warehouse club retailer of running a "bait-and-switch" false advertising scheme. According to a complaint filed in Manhattan federal court, Costco has never been an authorized retailer of Michael Kors handbags, yet it has recently run advertisements nationwide falsely suggesting that the handbags are available "starting at $99."

Halle Berry, Michael Kors launch Watch Hunger Stop

Halle Berry says she's a woman of compassion and Michael Kors says he's a man of action. Together, they want to make a dent in the battle against hunger around the world.The actress and fashion designer announced a philanthropic campaign Monday called Watch Hunger Stop that includes raising money through the sale of a version of Kors' best-selling Runway watch. For each $295 watch sold, 100 meals will be provided to children through the U.N. World Food Programme.Berry and Kors are planning to visit places together where the meals will be sent.

New York Fashion Week gets off to glamorous start

New York Fashion Week injected a bit of color and glamour into wintry Manhattan on Thursday, with the first of 300 autumn-winter collections for men and women unveiled on the runways. The opener was Nicholas K, with BCBG Max Azria and Kenneth Cole also in the first day's line-up, before a long weekend unfolds with stars like Alexander Wang ready to unveil their latest designs.
