Blast hits mainly Somali district in Kenyan capital

NAIROBI, March 5 (Reuters) - An explosion struck a predominantly Somali neighbourhood in the Kenyan capital Nairobi on Tuesday, police said. "There is an explosion that has taken place in Eastleigh, we are still trying to confirm what caused the explosion and whether there are casualties," Nairobi police chief Moses Ombati told Reuters.

The jury in the trial of disgraced British energy minister Chris Huhne's ex-wife was discharged Wednesday after failing to reach a verdict over the circumstances in which she took his speeding points. The jury of eight women and four men was discharged at Southwark Crown Court in London after telling trial judge Nigel Sweeney it was "highly unlikely" that even a majority verdict would be reached.

Vicky Pryce said she refused point-blank when Huhne asked her to take the speeding points, but a few weeks later she received a letter nominating her as the driver and "exploded". Greek-born Pryce, a 60-year-old senior economist, said when she refused to sign the letter and admit the offence her husband told her she was being "ridiculous".
